Man taken to Kings College Hospital, London, after collision between car and lorry on Station Road, Cliffe.

A man suffered broken bones in a collision between his car and a lorry this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the accident on Station Road, Cliffe, just before 1pm.

The driver, thought to be aged around 30, is believed to have a leg injury and was taken to King's College Hospital by the air ambulance. He was driving a Toyota Yaris.

A spokesman from Medway fire station said: "They hit each other coming round the corner. The driver of the lorry was unhurt.

"The car driver had to be freed from his car as structure of the car had folded around him."

The road was closed between Rectory Road and Merryboys Road whilst emergency services were on the scene. Traffic was diverted down Rectory Road and along Buckland Road.
