Pritchard Court in Shakespeare Road, Gillingham, sells at Clive Emson auction for £1,150,000

An entire block of flats has sold at auction for £1.15 million.

Pritchard Court, a complex of 10 apartments, in Shakespeare Road, Gillingham, was among the lots at the latest Clive Emson sale.

The freehold of the block, in what is known as Poet's Corner, sold for its guide price.

Its current rental income is said to be £86,460 a year.

Every flat has a single bedroom and one has a garden and there is parking behind the property.

According to Right Move, the last flat to be sold was in 2006 when it went for £91,000.

Pritchard Court was just one of 153 lots listed for sale by land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.

Auctioneer John Stockey said: “This was a fine investment opportunity. It is a purpose-built block and all the flats are let to tenants.

“The block is well located for the railway station and the M2 motorway.”

Said to be ideal for someone running their own business, or a builder, the property at 75 Maidstone Road has residential accommodation above but will need complete refurbishment.

A two-bed end-terrace period house in Strood also went up for sale.

The property at 10 London Road, sold bang on its guide price at £151,000.

A one-bedroom town centre flat in Chatham sold for £85,000, above its guide price of £70-75,000.

The flat at 6 Arches View, Hillside Road, also sold with the remainder of its 125-year lease which began in 1990.

A pair of flats in need of improvement in Gillingham, sold for £266,000.

The one bedroom flats at 51a and 51n in Richmond Road, sold well above the guide price of £180-190,000.

Three bedroom detached house, 110 Napier Road, Gillingham, sold for £275,000, above its guide price of £230-235,000.

Another three bedroom house in need of refurbishment sold for £183,500.

The property at 10 Corporation Road, Gillingham, had a guide price of £170-175,000.

A Chatham end terrace property with three to four bedrooms at 89 Harlington Street sold for £190,000, just above its guide price of £180-185,000.

A large property arranged as a hair salon with a self-contained flat above in Maidstone, sold for £221,000.

The site at 189 Balmoral Road had a guide price of £175-180,000.
