Canadian forward Peter Vaisanen has become Invicta Dynamos’ first signing ahead of the 2009/10 season.

The 24-year-old joins after several years playing US college hockey with spells at the Neuman Knights and the Potsdam Bears.

He moves to the UK to further his studies and team manager Kevin Parrish is looking forward to unleashing the forward on the English National Ice Hockey League.

Parrish said: "He will be a totally different player to that which we have seen at the club over the past few years. The six foot left hander is a strong and versatile forward and we are delighted to have a player of his calibre and background heading to the Dynamos.

"Vaisanen has the ability to find the net but his work ethic also means he will bring a lot of energy to our attack next season. Once he has settled in he should be a key figure at the club for 2009/10."

Vaisanen will fill one of the two allowed non British trained positions on next season’s roster.

Further signings are expecting to be announced in the coming days as Parrish continues to build his side for next season.
