Motorcyclist in fatal crash

A MOTORCYCLIST was killed after his bike hit a van on a slip road.

Jonathan Blyth, 40, of Glamford Road, Strood, was darting in and out of the traffic when a "glancing blow" with the van caused him to lose control of the motorbike, an inquest heard on Monday.

He hit a kerb on the A282 slip road heading for the Dartford Tunnel. The force of the impact threw Mr Blyth off his bike. He landed in the road and his bike on the grass verge.

Pathologist Peter Jerreat told the inquest that Mr Blyth died from a ruptured spleen and multiple fractured ribs following the accident on May 9.

Coroner Roger Hatch recorded a verdict of accident death following the inquest at Gravesend's county court.
