Two people have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a traffic incident in Strood which killed a mother and her daughter.

Road checks were set up between 11.30am to 12.30pm, in Station Road, Strood.

The crash which killed the pair happened the Sunday before, July 26, and the road checks were set up to try and find witnesses.

A spokesman for Medway Police, said: “During the checks details were taken from about 20 people and it is hoped the information provided by drivers will assist police in their investigation into the collision.

“Officers also carried out house-to-house enquiries to find further witnesses and they (the officers) have also issued appeal posters and carried out a leaflet drop in the area.”
