Police hunt vandal responsible for slashing car tyres

by Lynn Cox

Police are hunting a vandal who went on a three-day spree slashing tyres on 17 cars across the Towns.

Officers in Medway are appealing for information after the car tyres were damaged in Gillingham and Chatham in the early hours between Saturday, January 9 and Monday, January 11, in St Johns Road in Gillingham, Chatham Hill, Upper Luton Road, Magpie Hall Road and Glencoe Road in Chatham.

Det Sgt Chris Dovey said: “All of these offences are acts of mindless vandalism that have disrupted a number of residents in Medway.

“Those responsible for carrying out this vandalism clearly have no regard for people’s property and have caused residents unnecessary costs to repair the damage.

“These acts of criminal damage will not be tolerated in Medway, and those responsible will face prosecution if caught.

“I would urge anyone with information about this to contact Police immediately.”
