It was first reported at 2.28am and lasted around eight hours.

Five postcode areas were affected — ME1 1, ME1 2, ME2 2, ME3 7, and ME4 6.

However, according to UK Power Networks, only 67 customers lost their electricity supply.

The company apologises for any disruption this caused.

Southeastern has said none of its rail services were affected by the power cut.
