Robber Kevin Williams arrested in Luton after skipping bail over raid in Rochester

A robber on the run after skipped bail has been arrested.

Kevin Williams went on the run on October 22 and was convicted last week in his absence for his part in a raid on the home of a doctor and his opera singer wife.

Williams and his brother Daren Richardson wore masks and burst into the property in Shaws Way, Rochester, and tied up housesitters before escaping with a large haul of jewellery.

They chose the house of Dr Dudley Hubbard and wife Christine because Richardson's partner Tracey Clark worked there as a cleaner. She has since died after an illness.

At the end of the pair's trial last week the judge adjourned sentencing until Williams was caught, warning that they faced a lengthy term behind bars.

Williams, 59, of Hitchen, Hertfordshire, was tracked down in Luton, Bedfordshire, yesterday having been added to Kent Police's 'most wanted' list.

He's been remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, December 21, to be sentenced for the robbery.
