Morrisons cash machines in Knight Road, Strood, damaged after being ‘hit with a hammer’

Two supermarket cash machines have been damaged after reportedly being smashed with a hammer.

Officers are reviewing security footage at Morrisons in Knight Road, Strood.

Police were called at 6.33am today (November 24) to a report of criminal damage.

One shopper told KentOnline: “I went to top up and both outside cash machines were taped off.

“The screens of both were completely smashed – a fist-sized hole through the safety glass on one.”

It is believed a person damaged the screens of the two cash machines with a hammer.

An investigation is ongoing, including the review of CCTV.

Morrisons declined to comment on the incident.
