Chatham suspect charged after man punched in head in Gould Road, Lordswood

A 22-year-old has been charged after a stranger was punched in the head in broad daylight during what appears to be an unprovoked attack.

John Dalley, of Huckleberry Close, Chatham, was arrested following an assault in Lordswood on Friday.

The victim was walking in Gould Road at around 8.45am when it is alleged a person he did not know approached him and punched him in the head.

The suspect left the scene and later the same day a man was arrested.

Dalley has since been charged with assault by beating.

He was also charged with a count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with an incident on October 30, 2022.

Dalley appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded to a hearing at the same court on Thursday, March 9.
