Police hunt long-haired man after boy, 14, stabbed in The Trails, Chatham

Detectives hunting a man who stabbed a teenager four times have released a computer generated image.

As previously reported, the 14-year-old was walking along a footpath near Albany Road, Chatham, when he was approached by a stranger.

When the youngster's refused to hand over his phone and wallet, the man stabbed him before running from the scene.

Following the incident, which happened around 11.30am on Friday, August 13, the boy was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged and is recovering.

Investigating officer PC Scott Spedding said: "This incident happened on a footpath known locally as ‘The Trails’ and we are appealing for anybody who recognises the suspect from the image to contact us.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that may assist the investigation."

The attacker is white, 40 to 45, around 5ft 10in and slim. He had dark, curly shoulder-length hair and stubble, and was wearing dark clothing that appeared dirty.
