A woman had to be cut out of her car after a two-vehicle crash on the Wainscott bypass.

Firefighters from Medway were called at about 7pm on Wednesday when paramedics believed the woman might have suffered a spinal injury.

The roof of the Vauxhall Tigra was cut off to allow her to be put on a long-board as a precaution.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "We used hydraulic cutting equipment to get the roof off and the woman was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment."
