Captain Lee Martin heads the list of players leaving Gillingham this summer.
Martin is one of seven players to be told they won’t be receiving a new contract.
Long-serving midfielder Jake Hessenthaler is one of those heading for the exit door, along with Scott Wagstaff, whose time at the club has been dogged by injury.
Also leaving are young striker Greg Cundle, Franck Moussa, Rhys Murphy and Aaron Morris, who missed the whole of last season with injury.
New deals have been offered to defenders Gabriel Zakuani, Ben Nugent, Bradley Garmston, Aaron Simpson and Finn O’Mara.
Mark Byrne has already spoken of his desire to stay and is also among those the club are negotiating with.
Youngsters Noel Mbo, Bradley Stevenson, Elliott List, Ben Chapman, Tom Hadler and Navid Nasseri have also been given the chance to extend their stay at Priestfield.
Jack Tucker, Ryan Huckle and Henry Woods all signed their first professional deals, for the 2018/19 season, in January. Striker Leroy Hlabi has also been offered a six-month pro deal for the start of the new campaign.
Young goalkeeper Louie Catherall has also been offered a one-year deal.
A club statement said: “Gillingham FC would like to place on record its gratitude and thanks to the players who are leaving the club following the expiration of their current deals and we wish them well for their future careers.”
