A CHARITY event with a difference took place at Herne Bay on Saturday evening.

Basking in the glow of the evening sun, 275 female walkers set off from Hampton for the 6.2 mile trek to Whitstable and back.

Many of the women adorned their sportswear with pink bras to highlight their support for the cause.

It is hoped the event will top the £7,500 it raised last year for Walk the Walk, the charity dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer and encouraging people to lead healthier lifestyles.

Florist Debby Marman, who organised the walk with daughter Nadia, said: “It was all absolutely fantastic and getting 275 walkers was brilliant."
