Sevenoaks: Can you identify these 1940s Sevenoaks Army Cadets?

Do you know these men?

Stanley Peacock from Sevenoaks is looking for help identifying these men who are stood alongside his elder brother George.

George Peacock stands fourth from the right on the back row, and the other identified man is Les Foreman, who stands fourth from the right on the front row.

The photo is estimated to have been taken in 1942, during the Second World War, and features members of the Sevenoaks Army Cadet Force.

Mr Peacock said: "They all look like a smart bunch and all of them are getting on in years now, indeed, some have passed to a higher plain, including my brother George.

"They were war years of course and at a guess the Army Cadets were taken very seriously."

Colonel Chris Gilbert, Commandant, Kent Army Cadet Force said: “It is fascinating to look back and see how far the organisation has come.

It’s also important for young people today to be able to see such an important piece of social history and know that they too are part of an organisation that plays such a big part in young people’s lives in Kent. Maybe our 13-year-olds will be looking for their long lost friends in another 50 years!”

Please do get in touch with the Sevenoaks Army Cadet Force if you can identify any of the young men in this photo. Second Lieutenant Vicky Robinson is waiting for your call on 07973 452958.
