A mother with a brain tumour has had another bucket list wish granted – driving a new Jaguar.

Emma Young, 35, of Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne, was diagnosed with a meningioma in June and has undergone two lots of brain surgery to remove it.

Surgeons managed to get 80% of the tumour but she suffered nerve damage which resulted in her left eyelid shutting completely, although it is slowly regaining movement.

Despite being benign, the tumour is wrapped around a main artery and could cause a stroke or death at any time.

After reading our article, Barretts in Canterbury contacted the Messenger offering a Jaguar for her and husband Luke to drive to Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club, near East Grinstead, where they will spend the night on Wednesday.

The complimentary stay was offered to the couple after general manager Ben Booker read Emma’s story and her wish to have a second honeymoon there.

She explained she was too unwell to enjoy her time during their stay after their wedding on August 20, 2010, possibly due to the tumour.

A spokesman for Barretts said: “We are pleased to be able to make Emma’s second honeymoon experience even more special by offering a Jaguar for her to use during her stay at Ashdown Park Hotel. We hope she has a fantastic time.”

The former Abbey School pupil said: “I’m so grateful to them and the hotel for making my dreams come true.”

It is a bitter-sweet time for the part-time dental nurse as on Monday she is due to undergo an emergency CT scan.

She said: “I’ve been having a few problems with swelling on the left side of my face and pain in my head for the last four weeks now. They will tell me the results on the day.”

The rest of Emma’s bucket list includes having a cup of tea and a chat with her favourite actor Ray Winstone at a greasy spoon cafe, ringside seats for a boxing match, a trip to New York and a trip to Scotland to visit Leslie Castle.
