British Transport Police and ambulance called to medical emergency at Sheerness Railway Station

Police and medics were sent to Sheerness Railway Station in response to a "medical incident".

British Transport Police (BTP) officers and an ambulance were seen at the station in Bridge Road just before 1.30pm today.

A BTP spokesman said: "Officers attended Sheerness station at 12.47pm following a medical incident which was dealt with by paramedics."

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: "I can confirm we were called at approximately 1pm today to Sheerness Railway Stations to reports of two people in need of medical attention.

"Ambulance crews attended the scene and one person was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital after being assessed and treated at the scene."

There was no disruption to train services.
