Restaurant with rooms could replace Absolute Body Piercing tattoo parlour and Hair Profile hairdressers in Sheerness

Plans have been submitted for what could be a town’s first restaurant with rooms.

The proposal would see two shops in Victory Street, Sheerness – currently occupied by Absolute Body Piercing and Hair Profile - merged together to become an eatery, with guest rooms above it.

Another guest room would be created above Cyprus Kebab in the town’s high street, which backs onto the tattoo parlour and hairdressers.

All three sites are linked by a back courtyard.

The proposed changes are being applied for by Hasan Mustafa, who owns the buildings and also manages the kebab shop.

The rooms above the restaurant would all be en-suite double bedrooms. There would also be a "shared open terrace" on the first floor.

The restaurant would be staffed by two full-time and four part-time employees.

It would also feature a bar, disabled toilet and a fireplace, as well as a new chimney.

The rear courtyard between the proposed restaurant and Cyprus Kebab would be closed and infilled as part of the kitchen serving both eateries.

The first floor of Cyprus Kebab would then merge with the proposed upper floors of the restaurant and will serve as a third guest room for the restaurant.

While Sheerness has hotels and B&Bs, it is thought the proposal would be its first restaurant with rooms.

The latest plan for a new restaurant in the town comes just a few weeks after Carlyle’s closed its doors in Sheerness High Street.

It had opened in January but had struggled for business after a series of setbacks.
