A police spokesman confirmed officers are investigating reports of two thefts and one attempted theft from vehicles parked in Lorimar Court and Sonora Way between 2am and 6am on Sunday (September 10).

One of the residents affected, who did not wish to be named, said: “We lost nearly £2,000 in golf equipment and a jacket was also taken.

“The next morning our car would not recognise the car key either.”

Another couple who were targeted have been left questioning whether they locked their car or not.

The second victim said: “I honestly can’t tell you if I locked my car that day as so much had happened, my mum has been in hospital.

“I was sure I did but this is what happens when you don’t, the first and last time I make that mistake.

“Sadly he seemed to go to a lot of cars over the night on the estate. He only took a very amount of small change, luckily I don’t keep anything in my car.”

The police spokesman added: “Investigations are underway into the circumstances.

“Anyone with any information, or relevant CCTV or doorbell footage, is asked to call 01795 419119 quoting reference 46/164475/23.”
