Police dog helps track down dangerous driver suspect from Gillingham

A police dog has helped to track down a man suspected of dangerous driving.

During the early hours a vehicle failed to stop for officers on the A249 in Sittingbourne. March 20

The vehicle was pursued along the M2 coastbound to the A251 in Faversham where it was then found abandoned.

The National Police Air Service and a police dog helped to locate a suspect in a field nearby who was arrested.

Following a search of the vehicle, drugs suspected to be ecstasy were found.

A 19-year-old from Gillingham was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving without insurance or a licence and possession of a class A drug.

He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
