Sittingbourne know all about prolific Hythe Town striker Zak Ansah

Sittingbourne are well aware of Zak Ansah's threat going into their Kent derby at Hythe.

Ansah has scored 20 goals already this season and is arguably the best striker in Bostik South East.

The Brickies will have plans in place on Saturday but aren't going to Reachfields solely to stop the Cannons' prolific forward.

Manager Aslan Odev said: "We know how good he is. He scored twice against us last year in one of my first games as manager.

"We'll make plans for him but we won't change too much or go away from our system.

"You've always got to look at other teams' strengths and weaknesses but I'm a big believer that it's 75% about our team and 25% theirs.

"As long as we perform how we need to then I'll back us to get a result against anyone in this league.

"At the same time you need to look at the opposition and try to negate what they're comfortable with."

Opponents have certainly done their homework on Sittingbourne winger Ira Jackson.

He burst on to the scene at Brickies with five goals in August but hasn't scored since.

He's a marked man but Odev is determined to get him firing again.

Odev said: "Teams have looked at how to stop Ira.

"It's down to us to find ways round that and it's down to him to grow quickly as a player.

"When you're the best player on the pitch, or somewhere close, teams try to negate you.

"I've spoken to him extensively about it and we have ideas in place that hopefully pay off sooner rather than later.

"He'll be fine. There's a few things we're looking to change."

Defender Lex Allan could be a doubt after missing Sittingbourne's FA Trophy defeat by Wingate & Finchley with a knee injury.
