Bus causes damage to cars and walls in Broadstairs before being abandoned in Margate

A double decker bus has been found abandoned after leaving a trail of destruction in the early hours of this morning.

The Leyland vehicle is reported to have caused damage to a number of walls and cars in Reading Street, Broadstairs, at about 4am.

It was found abandoned in Taddy Gardens, Margate, at about 4.15am.

Police are treating the incident as aggravated vehicle taking.

Sergeant Paul Snedden said: “Officers are in the area today ascertaining the extent of the damage and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
