The owners of the pub in Church Street shared the sad news on Facebook.

“It is with great regret that we need to inform everyone that the Yard of Ale in St Peter’s will cease trading after Thursday, August 31,” the post said.

“This is due to the landlord requiring possession of the building back.

“For us, it's been 10 years - far more than we ever anticipated.

“We would like to thank all of our customers for their support over the years.

“We will walk out of there with our heads held high.

“Mind the Gap micropub will continue to trade as normal.”

The award-winning micropub is housed in the former stable block of the adjacent funeral directors in the village of St Peter's.

It is a former CAMRA Kent Pub of the Year winner.
