A dramatic fightback secured a Margate a point in a six-goal thriller against Bognor Regis Town in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.

Gate were 3-1 down with 10 minutes to play - but late goals from Lloyd Blackman and substitute Ben Clarke earned the visitors a draw.

Margate had taken the lead three minutes before the break when Wayne Wilson's corner was headed in by an unmarked James Duncan.

And Gate thought they should have been given the chance to double their lead from the penalty spot in first half stoppage time but the referee waved play on after Blackman had been felled in the box.

Bognor levelled on the hour mark when keeper Matt Reed hesitated, allowing Gary Norgate to latch onto a long ball forward ahead of him and tap into an empty net.

Nine minutes later and the hosts were ahead after Norgate turned provider for Jason Prior to volley home.

It was 3-1 on 80 minutes when Michael Birmingham scored from the penalty spot after a foul on Matthew Wood.

But Blackman began the unlikely recovery soon afterwards when he had the simplest of tasks to net after being set up by Clarke and then, three minutes into stoppage time, Curtis Robinson's header across goal found Clarke all alone at the far post to steal a point.
