Burglary suspect charged over Ramsgate High Street post office 'break-in'

A suspected burglar has appeared in court accused of stealing cigarettes from a Post Office in an early-morning break-in.

Police were called to the premises in Ramsgate High Street during the early hours of Sunday, April 19.

A quantity of cigarettes were reported stolen from the building.

Yesterday, Lee Kennelly, of Manston Road in Ramsgate, was charged with one count of burglary with intent to steal.

The 36-year-old appeared via virtual link at Medway Magistrates’ Court today, and was remanded in custody.

The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, June 1.
