Road closed after car overturns on A28 near St Nicholas-at-Wade

The A28 Canterbury Road was closed in both directions after a crash in which a car overturned.

KCC Highways reported the incident between Sarre and St Nicholas at Wade at around 4.45pm, stating police had been called to the scene.

The road remained closed for more than two hours, causing heavy congestion in the area, but has since reopened.

Drivers were warned to approach with caution and expect delays.

The incident also affected Stagecoach bus services 8 and 8A which were diverted via Ramsgate Road and the A299.

It is not yet known if anyone has been seriously injured.

Kent Police has been approached for further information.
