Long delays on trains through east Kent after over-running engineering works between Margate and Faversham

Commuters have been suffering severe disruption on trains through east Kent this morning.

Over-running engineering works between Margate and Faversham left all lines blocked.

Southeastern said trains running through these stations might be cancelled, delayed or diverted at short notice.

The rail operator said disruption is expected until at least 9am.

Tickets are being accepted on high speed services into St Pancras International as well as on London Underground.

Replacement buses have been taking passengers between Ramsgate and Faversham in both directions.
