Houseboat stabbing murder suspect in dock

A MAN accused of stabbing a man to death on a Kent houseboat appeared in court on Monday.

Kenneth Harman, of The Impulse boat, Medway Wharf Road, Tonbridge, spoke only to confirm his name during the five-minute preliminary hearing at Maidstone Crown Court.

It is alleged the 54-year-old murdered Michael Castle, 61, on February 15.

Mr Castle, also of The Impulse, was found dead from a single stab wound inside the cabin cruiser when it was moored in the River Medway near Cannon Bridge, Cannon Lane, Tonbridge.

Harman was remanded in custody by Mr Justice Bean until his next hearing on May 2.
