Rail commuters face rush-hour misery

TRAIN passengers are facing long delays this evening after a broken rail was found in Kent.

A signalling failure at the Somerhill Tunnell, between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, revealed the problem at around noon.

Nigel Jarrett, from Southeastern, said the line may not be repaired before 6pm and is likely to cause delays in and out of London on the Hastings route.

A half-hourly train shuttle service linking all stations between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings has started and replacement buses are taking passengers between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, via High Brooms.
