Man injured in unprovoked stab attack

A MAN was stabbed in the stomach while walking home in what police are calling an unprovoked attack.

The 32-year-old victim was using the footpath between Conniston Avenue and Woodside Road in Rusthall, near Tunbridge Wells, shortly after midnight on Monday when the attack happened.

He noticed a man walking towards him who said something to him before stabbing him in the stomach.

The injured man managed to call an ambulance from his mobile phone. He was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

The attacker is said to be white, aged between 20 and 29, with light brown cropped hair and wearing a long jacket or coat.

PC Denis Fogel said: "There does not appear to be any reason for this attack."
