Michael Maloney charged with attempted burglary in Mount Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells

A suspected burglar has been charged and remanded in custody following reports of an attempted break-in.

Kent Police was called to a flat in Mount Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells, on Thursday, December 6, where it is alleged a man was disturbed as he tried to enter through a sash window.

On Sunday officers on patrol in the town spotted a man matching the suspect’s description in Carlton Road.

Michael Maloney, 38, and of no fixed address, was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted burglary.

He was further charged with handling stolen goods, possession of cannabis and driving without insurance or a licence. He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
