A228 Whetsed Road, near Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, closed in both directions due to three-vehicle crash

A major stretch of road has been closed due to a crash involving three vehicles.

Part of the A228 Whetsted Road near Hop Farm, Paddock Wood has been closed in both direction since the crash at around 8.54am.

It was reported two cars and a van were involved.

Congestion has since built to Maidstone Road in Paddock Wood with traffic moving slowly.

Motorists are being warned of delays which are to be expected in the area.

No injuries have yet been reported but emergency services have been asked for more information.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire & Rescue Service said: “We were called to a crash today involving three vehicles in Whetsted Road, in Whetsted, Tonbridge.

“Two fire engines attended and crews used hydraulic equipment to release one person from their car who was then passed into the care of ambulance crews.”

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Officers and ambulance attended and the driver of a van was taken to a local hospital.

“His injuries were not described as life threatening.”
