Comedian and TV star Ross Noble spotted taking part in Tunbridge Wells parkrun in Dunorlan Park

A famous comedian has been spotted participating in a town’s parkrun.

Ross Noble, who has featured on television shows such as Have I Got News for You, Top Gear and Celebrity Apprentice Australia, spent his Saturday morning taking part in the Tunbridge Wells event at Dunorlan Park.

The 47-year-old currently lives in Australia, having moved from the Kent town in February 2017.

He was back in his former hometown after performing a gig the night before at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Crescent Road.

Noble, known for his surreal style of comedy, decided to compete in the 9am 5km run alongside 152 other keen runners and walkers, including account director Erica Jones.

She explained: "People tend to get to the park at about 8.50am for a briefing, and of course yesterday was such a miserable day.

"But you have an informal chat with lots of people.

"At the time though I didn't realise it was him, so this man was telling me about how he used to live here but now lives in Australia.

"So we were chatting about Australian parkruns, before somebody mentioned afterwards that he is a well-known comedian.

"Normally we have about 200 or 250 people running, but because of the rain it was less yesterday.

"A lot of people chose to stay in bed, which made Ross coming even more impressive – especially as you don't expect a famous person to be doing a parkrun.”

Noble, who was was joined on the run by his tour manager, finished 81st with a time of 29 minutes and 52 seconds.
