The tour celebrates the band’s latest album, Everything Was Forever, released earlier this month. Fans hoping to catch Sea Power on their string of live shows can expect to hear new music from their eighth album - including recent single, Folly.

“Folly is in the tradition of singalong Sea Power apocalyptic anthems – everyone ambling down the road to a multitude of catastrophes,” explains guitarist Martin Noble. “It’s all folly, but in this case set to some pretty life-affirming music – good stuff underpinning the donut vibes and maybe making you think it’s not all over.”

Best known for singles It Ended on an Oily Stage and Waving Flags, Sea Power are also sure to blast out their usual crowd-pleasers, which have seen them compared to icons of British music including The Cure and Joy Division in the past.

The band’s appearance at the Quarterhouse is the final night of their current run before they head out again in April, so this Saturday is sure to be a show-stopping performance.

Formerly known as British Sea Power, the band dropped the first part of their name in August.

“In recent times there’s been a rise in a certain kind of nationalism in this world – an isolationist, antagonistic nationalism that we don’t want to run any risk of being confused with,” the band explained on their website as they announced their new name.

“We’ve always been internationalist in our mindset, something made clear in songs like Waving Flags, an anthem to pan-European idealism. We always wanted to be an internationalist band but maybe having a specific nation state in our name wasn’t the cleverest way to demonstrate that.”

Supporting Sea Power at the Quarterhouse are local psychedelic rock band Moon Hooligan, a four-piece from Folkestone.
