Air gun used to injure cat

A CAT managed to make its way home after being shot and injured by someone with an air gun.

Police are seeking information about the incident that happened in the Ball Lane area of Kennington, near Ashford, between 3.30pm and 5pm on June 5.

The black cat returned home limping. It was taken to a veterinary practice where an x-ray revealed that a pellet was embedded in its leg.

Police say the pellet was removed and the animal is now recovering.

Det Sgt Matt Rentell said: “The cat was obviously shot and injured by an air weapon. This was a nasty act of cruelty and South Kent police would like to bring those responsible to justice.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Rentell on 01303 289180. Alternatively call Crimestoppers Hotline on 0800 555111. Calls to Crimestoppers are free, you do not have to give your name and you may be eligible for a reward.
