Ismael Botchey jailed after being tracked down inside William Hill in Ashford

A burglar has been jailed after being tracked down inside a bookmakers in Ashford.

Ismael Botchey was arrested after police were called to a break-in at a business in Beaver Lane.

Officers attended in the early hours of December 13 with police dog Elsa.

When they arrived, they found a door at the premises had been damaged.

Following a search by officers and Elsa, Botchey was arrested on suspicion of burglary at William Hill in Court Wurtin.

The 29-year-old, of Thornton Heath in South London, was later charged with going equipped for burglary, burglary with intent to steal and possession of cannabis.

Appearing at Folkestone Magistrates' Court the following day, Botchey admitted all three offences and was jailed for 16 weeks.
