Car and tractor in ditch following crash in Bank Road in Mersham, near Ashford

One person was taken to hospital following a crash which left a car and a tractor in a ditch.

Police and ambulance services were called at around midday yesterday to the end of Bank Road in Mersham, near Ashford.

A Toyota RAV4 and a tractor were involved in the collision and are both in the ditch at the end of the road, at the junction of Flood Street and Coppers Lane.

The 4x4 has been badly damaged at the front and rear, with the airbags appearing to have gone off during the incident.

The tractor is also in the ditch and flipped onto its side during the crash.

Both vehicles have been taped off with signs saying ‘police aware’ on them.

Two people were assessed at the scene by paramedics before one was taken to hospital for further treatment.
