A deliveryman was hit with a metal bar before his van was stolen.

Police officers were called at 5.35pm on Saturday, following the robbery in Orion Way, Ashford.

The driver was assaulted by a man, after which the assailant drove off in the van at around 5.30pm.

The victim was taken to hospital, from where he has since been discharged.

Officers are asking for people to be on the lookout for a silver Vauxhall Vivaro with three distinctive blue-tinted spotlights attached to the front.
