Search for 16-year-old blind dog missing in Wye Downs, near Ashford, for 48 hours

Villagers are rallying together in a desperate search for a 16-year-old blind dog which has been missing for 48 hours.

Lucinda, a black and grey Toy Poodle, was last seen during a walk on the Wye Downs, near Ashford, on Monday at 12pm near the Crown Lodge wedding venue in Coldharbour Lane.

Since then residents across Wye and beyond have been out looking for Lucinda so she can be reunited with her elderly owner.

One neighbour with a drone carried out a search yesterday morning, and it is understood a tracker dog was also sent out.

Some say it is likely Lucinda would have curled up in the long grass.

As temperatures reach 23 degrees on the Downs, villagers are growing increasingly concerned.

But there is still hope she may be found as some volunteers have reported hearing barking sounds during the search.

A volunteer search party has been organised for this evening where anyone with local knowledge of the area is invited to help find Lucinda.

The group will meet at 6pm at the car park for Crown Lodge before heading out on foot.
