Kent fire crews battle house fire in Ashford

Firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire in Ashford yesterday evening.

Two fire engines were called to the incident in William Lambert Place just after 5pm.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to put out the flames.

The team was battling with the electrical blaze for more than an hour.

Thankfully, no casualties were reported in the incident, which is believed to have started accidentally.

This was the second large fire to happen in the Ashford area yesterday, after three engines were called to a blaze near the M20.

The fire was at a machinery store in Sandyhurst Lane, a road that eventually runs over the carriageway.
