Ashford HGV fuel thefts: Three men charged

Three men from Folkestone have been arrested and charged by police following reports of HGV fuel thefts in Ashford.

Increased patrols have been carried out on the Henwood Industrial Estate in recent days following a number of alleged incidents.

The arrests were made shortly before midnight on Sunday by officers investigating suspicious activity in the area.

Brian Ward, 20, and Paddy Monghan, 28, both of High Street, Cheriton, and Patrick McDonagh, 23, of Roman Way, Folkestone, have all been charged with going equipped for theft.

Mr Monghan is also accused of driving while disqualified and without insurance.

They are bailed to appear before Margate magistrates on Tuesday, June 27.
