Hythe manager Scott Porter has targeted back-to-back wins to propel his side into the Ryman League Division 1 South’s top 10.

Town ended a run of four games without a victory in all competitions with a 2-1 success at Kent rivals Sittingbourne on Saturday and now face home games against Merstham on Saturday and Whyteleafe on Tuesday night.

Porter (pictured) said: "It felt good to get back to winning ways.

The boys did well, I was proud of them. We were under pressure at the end and there were some nerves – which is understandable as we’ve conceded some late goals – but we came through it and now we want to build on it."

He added: "Basically I want six points. We need to take advantage of playing teams below us at home. We want to get two wins which would push us up the
table.

"I’ve said all along I wanted to be in the top 10 by Christmas and then assess it again from there.

"We have not cracked anything yet but hopefully we can get there and we’ll be on track."

Fit-again Brendon Cass scored both goals at Bourne Park, while Tom Parkinson excelled at the back on his return to league action after two months out.

Porter said: "It shows what we’ve been missing. They were quality. It gives us a good problem going forward.

"We have players coming back to fitness and have got a good squad. Players like Dave Cook and Pat Kingwell didn’t even
start."

Former Town keeper Tony Allen has returned to the club on a month’s loan from Ashford as back-up for Paul Egan.
