Neil Cugley has been given a timely boost with the news that Josh Vincent has resumed training.

The 22-year-old defender (pictured) has been troubled by a long-term groin problem but is stepping up his return to fitness.

A former young player-of-the-year, Vincent is already in his fourth season as an established member of the Cheriton Road first-team squad, having made his debut in October 2008.

Fellow defender Josh Burchell (groin) could return for Saturday's home game with Merstham on Saturday as could Roland Edge, who is troubled by an Achilles problem, which prevents him playing two games a week.

Saturday’s visitors Merstham have boosted their squad with the signing of the experienced 30-year-old striker Mark Nwokeji, who played in League 2 for AFC Wimbledon two seasons ago.

Johan Ter Horst is one new name in the Folkestone squad and the Invicta boss is monitoring the progress of the youngster from Hythe.

Cugley added: "He is top scorer in our youth team and got another couple at the weekend." Invicta are in midweek action again on Wednesday facing Kingstonian in the second round of the Ryman League Cup."
