Ashford: Last chance to have a say on Court Lodge development

Residents have until Monday to have their say on plans for 1,000 homes on the outskirts of town.

Developers are asking the community to submit its views on proposals to build 1,000 homes, a two-form entry primary school and shops on the land south of Pound Lane in Kingsnorth.

The plans, dubbed Court Lodge and put together by Hallam Land Management, also include open space, a nature reserve, and children’s play space.

The London-based development company is looking to submit an outline planning application before Christmas.

It comes after finer details of the development were revealed to residents at a public consultation in the Homelands Stadium in Kingsnorth last month.

The centrepiece of the project - dubbed Court Lodge Square - features a local centre, shops, a small convenience store, office space, 50 apartments and new healthcare provision such as a GP surgery, dentist and pharmacy.

A new community hub with meeting rooms, a site management office and notice boards are also in the proposal.

An outdoor space - branded Discovery Park - could also be built on the site, which is earmarked for development in Ashford Borough Council's Local Plan.

Residents have until Monday (November 5) to submit their views.
