Leon Camier ‘hungrier’ as he prepares for World Superbikes test

World Superbike Championship contender Leon Camier is in Portugal this week for a three-day testing session with his Aprilia team.

The reigning champions’ rider will continue his preparations in Portimao ahead of the forthcoming 13-round season, starting in Australia next month.

Camier (pictured right) was injured at the end of last season, but has undergone an intensive training regime back home in Andorra, teaming up with top professional road cyclists Tom Boonen, Stuart O’Grady and Richie Porte.

He said: "Last season didn’t finish great for me but, rather than dwelling on what happened, it’s just made me hungrier.

"We made some good progress at the last test in Australia, so I want to work through some things to confirm that what we found is the correct way to go.

"I don’t think we need to try anything big or completely new, just fine-tune where we are at the moment."
