Man battered by four men in unprovoked attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 24-year-old man was assaulted in an unprovoked attack.

The man had been drinking in the Phoenix pub in Tufton Street, Ashford, and left at 12.15am on Saturday, December 22.

He walked along Churchyard Passage just opposite the pub when he was approached by a group of around four men, who dragged him backwards and assaulted him.

He received facial injuries and a swollen eye.

The offenders are described as being aged in their mid to late 20s.
