Newchurch win Ashford & District Sunday Football League Division 3 Cup

Newchurch defeated Brewmaster Reserves 2-0 in the Aford Awards Division 3 Cup final in the Ashford & District Sunday Football League.

They led 1-0 at half-time through a Gavin Prowse penalty after man-of-the-match Alex Smallman was brought down in the box, and then Sam Allaway added a second after the break.

The Brewmaster first team enjoyed better fortunes. defeating Bliby 4-2 in the semi-finals of the Bodkin Cup thanks to goals from Danny Jennings (2), Darren Light and Matt Clark.

Their opponents in the final on May 10 will be Kennington, who beat Bethersden 5-3 in the other semi-final. Kennington's scorers were Matt Collins (2), Danny Barham (2) and Steve Ward.

The only game in the Premier Division saw Troggs and Bromley Green draw 1-1. Adam Roffey scored for Troggs, with Rob Greenfield replying for Green
