Store raid 'gunman' still at large

POLICE are today still hunting a robber who put a store worker through a frightening ordeal.

The robber, thought to have been armed with a gun, entered the Currys store on the Warren retail park at Ashford as it was being opened at around 7.30am on Tuesday.

He said he had a gun and told the shop worker that if he complied with his request he would not get hurt.

The raider snatched a large quantity of cash and fled by the front exit carrying the money in a Sainsbury’s bag.

The man detectives are hunting is white, around 5ft 11in tall and aged about 40. He had a was wearing silver glasses. He was wearing a black mac with a hood, beige gloves and dark shoes.

Det Sgt Andy Chapman, of Ashford Police, said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity around 7.30am on Tuesday and saw anything out of the ordinary.”
