Three arrests after brawl outside McDonald's in Ashford high street

Three people have been arrested after a brawl outside a town centre McDonald's led to three men being knocked to the ground.

A shocking video of the fight outside the branch in Ashford's lower high street went viral and has been viewed millions of times online.

It happened on Friday and police were called at 6.50pm.

Officers arrested three men, aged 53, 37 and 23, on suspicion of affray.

The 53-year-old man has since been released on bail while the 37-year-old and a 23-year-old have been released under investigation.

The video shows onlookers cheering and shouting, with some eventually attempting to break up the brawl.

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers say they are aware of the footage circling on social media.

Ashford's lower high street is no stranger to incidents, with a number of assaults reported in recent months.

In June, a woman was attacked outside Sports Direct - just a few doors down from McDonald's.

In July, a pensioner was pushed in the back and robbed of his phone near the junction with North Street.
