Ashford had to settle for a winning draw against Shepherd Neame Kent League Division 1 strugglers Orpington.

Shannon Fattore’s half century was the feature of Ashford’s 194-8 but they then found the Orpington batsmen in obdurate mood as they replied with 110-7 from their 50 overs. Mohson Raza claimed 3-25 for Ashford.

Folkestone escaped with a losing draw against The Mote thanks to a fine fourth-wicket stand between Joshua Bryen (85no) and Dan Clark (45no).

They put on an unbeaten 135 as Folkestone, replying to The Mote’s 277-3, recovered from 77-3 to 212-3 at stumps.

Hythe came out on top by 94 runs in their Division 1 game with Tenterden.

They were restricted to 171-9 batting first, skipper Dan Furnival top scoring with 31 while Timir Chanda took 3-46 for Tenterden.

But Tenterden then collapsed to 3-3 in reply and they were eventually all out for 77.

Ben Dwyer (5-32) and Jamie Hemphrey (4-15) did the damage with the ball but they were unable to remove Chanda who completed a fine all-round performance with 42 not out.
